AMBULATORY PHLEBECTOMY

Ambulatory phlebectomy is a technique to remove superficial varicose veins through small, slit-like incisions in the skin. Stitches are usually not required. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.

VENASEAL CLOSURE

VenaSeal Closure is an in-office procedure that utilizes a medical adhesive to close bad veins in the legs to alleviate symptoms such as swelling, achiness, fatigue, heaviness of the legs.

VEIN ABLATION

Vein ablation is an in-office procedure that utilizes radiofrequency or laser energy to cauterize and close bad veins in the legs to alleviate symptoms such as swelling, achiness, fatigue, heaviness of the legs.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins with the injection of a solution directly into the vein. It is a noninvasive procedure that can be performed in our office by one of our physicians.

INFERIOR VENA CAVA FILTER PLACEMENT

During Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement, a filtering device is placed within the IVC, a large vein in the abdomen that returns blood from the lower half of the body to the heart. Blood clots in the veins of the legs and pelvis can occasionally travel to the lungs where they may cause a pulmonary embolism or blockage. IVC filters help reduce the risk of pulmonary embolism by trapping large clots and preventing them from reaching the heart and lungs. They are used in patients who don't respond to or cannot be given conventional medical therapy such as blood thinners.

INFERIOR VENA CAVA FILTER REMOVAL

The procedure to remove the IVC filter is very similar to the procedure used to place it. A small catheter-based wire loop (snare) is inserted into the large vein in the neck. A removable IVC filter contains a small hook at one end. With X-ray guidance, your doctor uses the snare to grasp the hook and withdraw the filter. If this is unsuccessful, advanced complex filter removal techniques can be used very effectively. These procedures are performed on an outpatient basis under sedation, with brief post-procedure observation and return to normal activities the next day.

INFERIOR VENA CAVA RECONSTRUCTION

The need for inferior vena cava (IVC) reconstruction may occur as a result of planned resection (due to involvement with tumor), iatrogenic injury or trauma.
